Privacy Policy

Agile Catalyst Labs ("we," "us," or "our") operates the GameYard mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App. GameYard is designed with privacy in mind — we do not operate user accounts or transmit personal data to our own servers.

1. Information We Collect

Data stored locally on your device

GameYard stores your game preferences (such as drinking mode default) and active session state (current card, score, deck) on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party.

Purchase and entitlement data (RevenueCat)

When you make an in-app purchase, we use RevenueCat to process and manage your entitlement. RevenueCat collects and processes:

Purchase receipts and transaction history from the App Store or Google Play
Device identifiers used to associate purchases with your device
App Store or Google Play account identifiers

RevenueCat acts as a data processor on our behalf. Their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Analytics data (Firebase Analytics)

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the App. Firebase Analytics collects and processes:

App interaction events (screens viewed, features used)
Device identifiers (including Android Advertising ID on Android)
Crash diagnostics and app performance metrics
Approximate location derived from IP address (country/region level)
Device information (model, operating system version, language)

Firebase acts as a data processor on our behalf. Their privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Advertising data (Google AdMob)

The App shows ads in its single-player games, supplied by Google AdMob. Ads appear in two places only: between completed rounds, and as an optional ad you choose to watch in exchange for something in the game (an extra life, a hint, an extra puzzle). We never interrupt a round in progress.

To select and measure those ads, Google AdMob collects and processes:

The advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android)
IP address, from which approximate location (country/region level) is derived
Device information (model, operating system version, language)
Ad interaction data (ads shown, ads clicked, rewarded ads completed)

Unlike our other providers, Google may act as an independent controller of this data for its own advertising purposes, not only as a processor acting on our behalf. Google explains how it uses data from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

If you subscribe, the App shows you no ads at all. Ad requests stop entirely for active subscribers — nothing is requested from Google, so no ad data is collected through AdMob. Any feature you could otherwise unlock by watching an ad is simply granted to you.

Your choices about ad tracking

Everywhere: ads are shown either way, but you can stop them being personalised to you.
iOS: we ask for App Tracking Transparency permission before the first ad is ever shown. Decline it and you will see non-personalised ads. You can change this later in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
Android: you can opt out of ads personalisation, or delete your advertising ID entirely, in Settings › Privacy › Ads.
European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland: we present a Google-certified consent form before any ad is requested, and your choice governs whether personalised ads may be served.

Advertising identifier (IDFA / GAID)

The advertising identifier is used by Google AdMob to select and measure ads, as described above, and by RevenueCat for purchase attribution. On iOS both uses require the App Tracking Transparency permission described above. The App works normally if you decline.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not create or store user accounts
We do not collect your name, email address, or contact information
We do not record gameplay, card responses, or any in-game content you interact with
We do not collect precise location data (GPS)

3. How We Use Information

The information processed through RevenueCat is used solely to:

Verify and restore your subscription
Grant or revoke premium content entitlement
Determine whether to show you ads — subscribers are shown none

The information processed through Google AdMob is used solely to:

Select the ads shown in the single-player games
Measure whether an ad was shown, clicked, or watched to completion
Limit how often the same ad is repeated to you, and detect invalid or fraudulent traffic

4. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services:

RevenueCat — in-app purchase management. Privacy Policy
Google Firebase Analytics — aggregate usage analytics and crash diagnostics. Privacy Policy
Google AdMob — advertising in the single-player games. Privacy Policy
Expo Updates — over-the-air app updates. Privacy Policy

Purchases are ultimately processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), each with their own privacy policies. We do not handle payment card information.

5. Age Requirement

GameYard is intended for users aged 18 and older. The App contains content related to alcohol consumption and mature themes. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the App, please contact us. Because the App is not directed to children, ad requests are not marked for child-directed treatment.

6. Data Deletion

You can request deletion of the data held about you at any time. Because we do not operate user accounts, we identify your data via your device identifier and purchase records.

How to request deletion:

Email us at customer-service@agilecatalystlabs.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request".
Include the approximate date of your last purchase (if any) and the platform you use (iOS or Android).

What we delete:

RevenueCat — your customer record, including purchase history and device identifiers
Firebase Analytics — any event and user data associated with your device identifier
Google AdMob — we can request deletion of ad data associated with your advertising identifier. You can also reset or delete that identifier yourself at any time using the device settings above, which severs the link to any past ad data

We will complete deletion requests within 30 days of receipt. Local data stored on your device (game preferences, session state) is removed automatically when you uninstall the App.

Note: purchase transaction records that Apple or Google are legally required to retain for tax and audit purposes remain under their control and cannot be deleted by us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Given that we hold minimal data (purchase records via RevenueCat only), requests can be directed to us at the contact below.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
